SS-TEG Standard Sample System

Designed to extract, condition and analyse a sample of natural gas with potential TEG or heavy hydrocarbon condensate presence. — ensuring samples are optimal for accurate moisture measurement, then safely vented or returned to the process.

Designed for reliable moisture analysis in the presence of Triethylene Glycol (TEG) or heavy hydrocarbon condensate, the SS-TEG Dewpoint Sample System is essential for natural gas dehydration processes. Triethylene Glycol is hygroscopic, effectively absorbing water from natural gas, which is crucial for meeting pipeline specifications and preventing corrosion and hydrate formation. TEG contactors, integral to natural gas processing plants, facilitate the glycol dehydration process within a contactor tower. As the glycol absorbs moisture and becomes saturated, it descends, allowing the dried natural gas to ascend for further processing.

Accurate dewpoint measurement downstream of a glycol contactor is critical to avoid risks like system shutdowns or excessive energy use, ensuring the dehydration system operates efficiently. The rugged and compact SS-TEG incorporates high-quality components unaffected by the presence of glycol. It offers rapid response accuracy, simple installation, easy operation, and minimal maintenance with two standard configurations to control sample pressure and flow effectively. For specific requirements, our team can create custom-engineered solutions to meet precise analysis needs.

Applications

Natural Gas and LNGLiquification and regasification of natural gas have become integral and vital to the supply of global energy. The presence of moisture in the transportation of natural gas poses significant challenges, including the risk of freezing in vital pipelines and valves. Ensuring accurate measurement of trace moisture ensures gas quality, protecting downstream systems and extending the functional longevity of desiccant materials.
Natural Gas TransferPacked joints are widespread in gas distribution networks but they have the drawback of occasionally allowing moisture ingress, which can spread through the gas distribution system. Thereby resulting in the pilot light failure in domestic appliances. Monitoring/spot-checking trace moisture across a problem area will ensure that the source of the ingress is rapidly identified and fixed.

Frequently Asked QuestionsIf you have a question that’s not answered below, please contact us

What is the purpose of the SS-TEG Natural Gas Dewpoint Sample System?

The SS-TEG Sample System conditions natural gas samples by removing particulate and moisture contaminants using filtration and pressure regulation. This preparation ensures accurate dewpoint measurement by the sensor. The system may include heated regulators and diffusion coils for optimal performance.
