Chilled mirror hygrometers
Precision dewpoint measurement combined with advanced temperature control and optical detection, delivering accurate and reliable moisture measurement solutions for a wide range of applications.
How our chilled mirror hygrometers work
Our chilled mirror hygrometers use dewpoint measurement to accurately determine the moisture content in a gas sample.
The heart of the system is a precisely temperature-controlled mirror surface that is cooled to the point where condensation begins to form. This temperature, known as the dewpoint, directly correlates to the amount of moisture present in the gas.
The mirror's temperature is precisely regulated using a thermoelectric cooler, which allows for rapid and precise adjustments. A light source is directed onto the mirror surface, and the reflected light is monitored by a sensitive optical detector. As the mirror cools and condensation begins to form, the reflected light signal diminishes. The hygrometer's advanced control system continuously monitors the mirror surface and maintains the temperature at the exact point where condensation begins to form, providing a real-time measurement of the dewpoint temperature. This temperature is then converted to the corresponding moisture content using industry standard equations, providing highly accurate and reliable humidity measurements.
Our chilled mirror hygrometers are designed with a focus on accuracy, reliability, and ease of use. The sensors are constructed using high-quality materials and undergo rigorous calibration and testing to ensure optimal performance. The compact and rugged design allows for use in a wide range of applications, from laboratory settings to industrial environments.
