DSP-Ex | Portable Dewpoint Hygrometer
A self-contained, portable hygrometer designed to deliver precise trace moisture measurements of gases and dry compressed air, certified intrinsically safe for hazardous applications.
Certified intrinsically safe to ATEX standards (ATEX Ex ia IIC T3/T4 Ga) and CE approved, the Model DSP-Ex is suitable for use in hazardous areas. With an accuracy of ±2 °C dewpoint and an overall range of -110 °C to +20 °C dewpoint, the DSP-Ex ensures reliable performance. The hygrometer’s unique desiccant dry-down technology provides rapid response times, making it ready for spot-check readings with minimal air or gas usage. The advanced dewSMART transmitter, utilizing ultra-high capacitance aluminum oxide sensing technology, guarantees unsurpassed repeatability and measurement precision — and is fully interchangeable without returning to Alpha Moisture Systems for calibration and setup.
The DSP-Ex features a user-friendly interface and requires little to no maintenance. The digital screen offers versatile display options, allowing users to select from various moisture units, including °C, °F, ppb(v), ppm(v), ppm(w), g/m³, and lb/MMSCF. Additionally, the device includes a user-programmable parts per million (weight) function for specific gases, with pre-programmed settings for common gases like Air, Ar, H₂, SF₆, CO₂, and N₂.
Powered by six “C” type batteries, the DSP-Ex performs self-diagnostics on startup and includes an automatic switch-off function to conserve battery life, providing over 250 hours of continuous operation. The standard package comes ready to use with batteries installed, two meters of stainless-steel PTFE sampling hose, stainless-steel quick-connect fittings, a calibration certificate, an instruction manual, and an anti-static carrying case, ensuring you have everything needed for immediate use.
